St Bride’s Choir: Sing Choir of Angels

  • St Bride's Church Fleet Street London, England United Kingdom (map)

Seasonal music, readings and poetry conjuring up a celebratory yet reflective atmosphere ahead of the big day

Sing Choirs of Angels is a recent addition to our Advent calendar and has proved immensely popular.

It takes place on Christmas Eve at 4:30pm for all those who cannot make it to Midnight Mass or for those who need a moment to draw breath and reflect in this busiest of times.

To ensure everyone's safety the number of attendees in church is limited so please register soon to avoid disappointment.

This year we have welcomed a growing online community of those not able to attend services in person, so a pre-recorded version of this service will be streamed online on YouTube. Please register to Watch Online and you will be sent the YouTube link.

St Bride's Choir will be performing a mixture of Renaissance polyphony (including the mellifluous setting of "Pastores loquebantur" by the Flemish composer Jacob Clemens), Christmas anthems by mainstream composers (Herbert Howells' "Sing lullaby", one of our Director of Music's personal favourites) and more recent pieces, such as the arrangement of a lovely Irish lullaby by Fintan O'Carroll.
