Apollo5: Where All Roses Go

This concert and album launch marks the 10th anniversary of Apollo5, reflecting the ensemble’s journey from its inception, as well as its creative focus through 2020.

In an energetic exploration of the joy and despair of human love, the concert unites a diverse collection of choral music spanning 500 years, from some of the earliest known polyphonic writing through to new compositions for the album and the concert. Notable arrangements and commissions written especially for Apollo5 include works by David Fawcett, Paul Smith, Taylor Scott Davis and Fraser Wilson. These are juxtaposed with pieces by composers as broad-ranging as Francisco Guerrero, Eric Whitacre, John Tavener, Claude Debussy, Francis Poulenc, Gerald Finzi and Michael McGlynn. Join us for St. Valentine’s evening to journey ‘Where all Roses Go’…

“Soon the swallows will be flying south,
The winds wheel north to gather in the snow.
Even the roses split on youth's red mouth
