About Me

Professional Soprano and passionate educator

Hi, I’m Emily, a professional soprano and animateur, with a passion for inspiring people through music!

Having studied Music at Durham University and then specialised in Historical Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, I have gone on to create a varied portfolio career in performance and education which has taken me around the world, performing on some of the top concert platforms and working with thousands of children around the globe.

Early Music is my first passion and I have the joy of regularly performing with the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra, The Kings Consort and Dame Emma Kirkby’s Dowland Works, as well as my own ensembles Ceruleo and Melismata. These collaborations have led to some wonderful personal highlights: I made my BBC Proms solo debut in 2021 with the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra, performing the soprano duets in Handel’s Dixit Dominus alongside Julia Doyle and was a semi finalist in the London Handel Festival Singing Competition 2021. You can hear me performing with The Kings Consort on two CDs of of Purcell Odes and soon Ceruleo will be releasing their debut album of works by Purcell, Blow and contemporaries in Autumn 2022.

I also love a varied musical diet and inspiring people through music of all kinds. I really value my performing and education work with Apollo5 a cappella group and with Live Music Now, where I take music into care homes and SEND settings. I take my own wellbeing very seriously and am a trained Vocal Health First Aider and soon to be qualified 200h Yoga Teacher. When I’m not performing, I’m probably to be found out in the countryside somewhere, or curled up with a good book or my latest crotchet project.
