In the summer of 1660, London’s theatres were finally able to open again after 18 long years ofTheir ‘Aspects of Love’ programme includes musical treats by Monteverdi, Purcell and Barbara Strozzi, which perfectly suit Ceruleo’s forces. The music is interspersed with words by William Shakespeare along with love poetry from the 17th century taken from ‘The Cavalier and his Lady’, a book containing selections of writings by the first Duke and Duchess of Newcastle originally published in 1872.
